Resolution, or something like it

Even though I don't believe in making changes just because the calendar turns a new year, certain parts of the ebb and flow of my life have been calling out to change. And I admit, the ending of a year, of a school semester, does make me think of things anew.

1. Eat healthier. This is always on my list but I never really concretely define what healthy is...which makes me spiral into the occasional meat, carb, junk-food induced comas I'm determined to get rid of. So for this year, concretely, 1 cup of vegetables and 1 fruit each day. And drinking as much water/tea as I can.
2. Focus more on what I want and not on just pleasing others. I have pushover tendencies as well as the need to seek harmony in social situations even when it compromises my real feelings about someone/something. Later I end up bitter and passive aggressive. I'm going to try and be more assertive and selfish in certain situations. This will begin with my family.
3. Read Read Read....haven't been doing enough of it, need to connect back with a blissful fictional lyrical universe. Also determined to cull the greatest selection of literature for my future students.
 4. Enjoy and work hard in my last full semester of grad school. So many intriguing classes, things to learn, connections to ponder....last chance to be a full time student and have the luxury to purely think.
5. Save money!!!
